Providing support to public libraries in Vermont since 2000

A brief history

The Vermont Public Library Foundation (VPLF) was established in 2000 as described by  22 V.S.A. § 610. Between 2001 and 2004, VPLF distributed more than $12 million dollars to libraries throughout the state through a generous gift from the Freeman Foundation. Since that time, the VPLF has provided significant support to Vermont's public libraries through the Winnie Belle Learned Fund, the Creative Connections Grant, the Turrell Fund's "Ready for School" program and, most recently, through the Maker Program.

VPLF today

In Winter 2023, the VPLF will launch applications for non-competitive grants from the Winnie Belle Learned Fund to support activities for youth in Vermont's public libraries.

The VPLF welcomes  gifts of support programming and collections at public libraries throughout the state of Vermont.
